Many of my favorite things started out as a friend’s favorite…and so I decided to share some things that I’m enjoying these days:
Book: New Morning Mercies. Who doesn’t need the mercy of God fresh every morning? Hand raised. Here was what struck me today as some friends and I from Life Group at church are reading along together each day and commenting via group text.
I’m passionate about reading to my kids. This book is rocking my world by solidifying it–and encouraging me of the benefits I couldn’t have articulated. I’m listening to the audio version, free from the library using Hoopla. I cannot recommend it highly enough. (I just learned this crazy fact–even if you only read 10 minutes every other day to your kids (or to yourself!), you’ll read 30 hours in the year. It’s small habits!)
Documentary: Families of the World (Amazon Prime)
This has become our new favorite Sunday-night-dinner-on-a-picnic-blanket movie. We are just 2 episodes in and we’ve fallen in love with these kids from these countries. Our eyes (all 8 of them) and hearts have been enlarged for the people God made and loves so much as we learn about a day in the life of 2 kids in each country. Free with Amazon Prime.
So now it’s your turn! Comment below and let our family know your latest favorites–books, movies, etc.
Angie, please show me more about this book when you come up!!!! : ) : )
Some great resources, Angie–thank you for sharing them and being out there fielding them! Jim (and Karen)
