My Lizzy’s growing up

Two milestone things from this week that I don’t want to forget…when these 2 years seem a blur of the past.

She’s attempting to spell. Any guesses as to what she jotted down, below? Hint: it’s what she wanted to take on a nature walk.

I love fuhneticul spelling!

And she’s just started doing this.

Turns out that the important how-you-tie-your-shoes conversation didn’t come up during Scott and my pre-married counseling. Not so long ago I realized he doesn’t chase the bunny around the burrow like I do.

And by watching, she’s tying her shoes. Just like Scott. (Sobering to think about all she’s absorbing by watching at this sponge-like age. Thank You, Jesus, for grace in this role as a mom!) Editor’s note: She doesn’t have genius tendencies as much as I’d hoped. 😛 I just learned that Scott’s totally been working with her every day. I had no idea!

Each time she ties them she gives me a serious mini-talk about how I’m not to get too excited when she does it. But a little bit excited is ok.

    Backpack and binoculars!

Oh my goodness Angie, both your kids are getting more adorable day by day. Aren’t they in a fun age? And you will be able to look back on these blogs together when they get older.

My mom kept Christmas newsletters, and printed a book for my sister and I one year. I love looking back and seeing not only my own growing up, but then my children as she reported to friends and family about them too.

WOW!!!! This is a FUN & EXCITING email!!!! It definitely looks like Lizzy made a list to include her back pack and some binoculars on the nature walk!!!! Awesome spelling and organizational skills!!!! WHOO HOO!!!! (Lizzy, I hope this Nana response is not showing too much excitement!!!! BUT I am VERY EXCITED that you are spelling SO WELL BEFORE you are even 5 years old!!!! AND that you are tyeing your shoes ALL BY YOURSELF!!!! YEAAAAAAAA!!!!) : ) : ) : ) : ) Hmmm!! Not sure where Scott learned to tie his shoes because Dean and I just watched each other tie a shoe, and we tie ours with the bow straight across!! : ) : ) : ) : ) FUNNY about the omission of the shoe tying issue during premarital counseling!!!! : ) : )

    A-N-D- – -“The Joshua” is sitting there in the background absorbing e-v-e-r-y bit of this conversation & demonstration!!!! Umm hummm!!!! : ) : ) THEY ARE BOTH SOOOO CUTE!!!! : ) : ) : ) : )

    Please give Lizzy and Joshua GREAT BIG HUGS AND KISSES from Nana and Papa!!!! : ) : ) : ) : ) We can’t wait to do it in person this summer!!!! : ) : ) : ) : ) YEAAAAAA!!!! : ) : ) : ) : )
